On May 25, 2024, Horizon Vietnam Travel and the charitable group “Từ Tâm” traveled hundreds of kilometers to schools in Region 3, particularly disadvantaged areas, in the districts of Văn Lãng and Bình Gia, in Lạng Sơn province. Our goal was to distribute books, gifts, and provide support to underprivileged students.

Thiện Hòa kindergarten, located in Bình Gia district, comprises one main school and three satellite schools in remote areas. For the 2023-2024 school year, the school welcomes 187 students, all boarding, belonging to the Tày, Nùng, and Dao ethnic minorities. The percentage of students living in difficult conditions is relatively high.

We distributed over 1,300 notebooks, approximately 400 towels, toothbrushes, over 120 complete sets of children’s clothing, as well as numerous candies, colored pencils, rulers, and school supplies, along with sports equipment. Additionally, students received hundreds of books, and 15 underprivileged students each received gifts worth 500,000 VND.

At Bắc La ethnic semi-boarding secondary school, in Văn Lãng district, we delivered numerous gifts, including textbooks and reference books, school supplies, sports equipment, candies, and five scholarships (worth 500,000 VND each) to five underprivileged students. According to the school’s report, the region is particularly challenging, with the majority of the population belonging to Tày and Nùng ethnic minorities. The school has 70 students divided into four classes, of which 30 are boarders. Approximately 34% of students come from particularly disadvantaged families. School infrastructure severely lacks resources for teaching, outdoor activities, sports, and cultural events.

Through collaboration with local authorities, our group was able to offer gifts totaling nearly 100 million VND. These actions are part of social welfare programs marking the end of the school year and the arrival of summer 2024.

On this occasion, we also organized incense and flower-laying ceremonies in memory of comrade Hoàng Văn Thụ at Hoàng Văn Thụ in Văn Lãng district, as well as at the monument of comrade Lương Văn Tri in Văn Quan city, Văn Quan district.

Teachers and students expressed their joy and gratitude in receiving these precious and timely gifts, which will encourage them to face the new 2023-2024 school year with confidence. These initiatives demonstrate Horizon Vietnam Travel’s commitment and that of our partners in improving living and educational conditions for disadvantaged children in remote regions of Vietnam.
