Humanitarian Mission After Typhoon Yagi in Lao Cai Province

After the devastating passage of Typhoon Yagi, the Bac Ha district in Lao Cai province was severely hit, leaving considerable damage in its wake. Infrastructure in many areas remains heavily damaged and full rehabilitation is, for now, still out of reach. Landslides destroyed numerous roads, making access to affected areas particularly difficult, if not impossible at times. However, facing these challenges, Horizon Vietnam Travel demonstrated an unwavering spirit of solidarity and mutual aid by mobilizing quickly. Without hesitation, the agency committed itself alongside other organizations to offer concrete and essential support to residents affected by this natural disaster.

During this humanitarian mission, Horizon Vietnam Travel collaborated with several volunteer groups, such as the Next-G Fund, the Tu Tam Humanitarian Group, the Hoa Sen humanitarian team and many other local organizations. Together, they organized a comprehensive program of free medical consultations, distributed essential medicines and delivered significant gifts to residents of four communes in Bac Ha district, severely affected by the storms. In particular, Horizon Vietnam contributed to the collective effort by donating 500 bottles of massage alcohol. These bottles provided welcome relief to villagers after long days of intense work and contributed to their physical recovery, in a context where medical and health resources are still limited.

Although the total value of aid provided, equal to 1.5 billion VND, is modest compared to estimated losses of over 6,000 billion VND for the entire district, the true wealth of this initiative lies in the sincerity and generosity of the many charity groups participating. These contributions, though modest in the face of the immensity of needs, were filled with compassion and humanity. We hope that this support can serve as a source of moral encouragement, helping residents find the strength to overcome difficulties and rebuild their lives after this destructive storm.

The success of this charitable mission was largely due to the spirit of solidarity that prevailed throughout the operation, as well as the tireless and dedicated efforts of all members involved. The path was not easy: dangerous roads, hostile weather conditions and unforeseen obstacles made every step difficult. However, collective determination and courage made it possible to overcome these challenges and complete the mission. Horizon Vietnam and its partners succeeded in bringing comfort, care and support to those who needed it most, despite extremely difficult conditions.

We wish to express our deepest gratitude to all members of the humanitarian team who, despite obstacles and difficulties, persevered to bring valuable and urgent aid to residents of Bac Ha. Thanks to this spirit of dedication, we are convinced that the life of the villages, deeply disrupted by the typhoon, will gradually recover a certain balance. These actions, although punctual, have sown seeds of hope and solidarity that will continue to flourish long after the storm.
