Humanitarian Trip January 2023 Thung Village
Table of contents
On this beautiful morning in January, at 5 a.m. sharp, a team from Horizon Vietnam Travel prepares to depart for a long journey for humanitarian purposes. We set out to the Lang Chanh – Thanh Hoa region near Pu Luong and more precisely to the small village of Thung located 160 kilometers from Hanoi.
The village of Thung is a small village of the Muong ethnic group that lives in a hilly area, in the central-north of Vietnam. There are in total 56 family units living in the village, their main occupations are agriculture, rice farming, corn cultivation, agricultural production, raising pigs, cattle, chickens…
Here the life of the people is still very difficult, the roads are remote, electricity has not reached the village, there is only a small primary school with 3 classrooms.

Two minibuses full of clothes, food items, school supplies, gifts travel the road for about 4 hours.
Upon arrival at our destination we are welcomed by the village chief and begin to unload and organize supplies. It is in the schoolyard that the entire event will take place, and already children gather and watch us with curiosity.
Thanks to the humanitarian fund of Horizon Vietnam Travel that sets aside 1 euro for each traveler, it is a sum of 1400 euros that we used to purchase some products such as:
- Oil, sugar, pasta…
- School supplies: backpacks, pens
- New clothes: jackets
- Used clothes

But rather than long speeches, we leave you to enjoy beautiful photos that testify to this beautiful day.

After some speeches and many photo ceremonies, it was time for the team to head back to Hanoi!
