Inauguration of Hoa Mi Kindergarten, Mu Cang Chai, Yen Bai – August 26, 2023

On August 26, 2023, with the aim of “Bringing words to the mountains,” planting seeds for the future, and creating favorable conditions for mountain children to attend school, the humanitarian association Tu Tam (From the Heart) and other groups, including the Horizon Vietnam Travel team, organized the inauguration of Hoa Mi kindergarten in La Pan Tan village, Mu Cang Chai district, Yen Bai province. It was also a gift offered to children before the start of the 2023-2024 school year.

La Pan Tan is an extremely poor commune, where 99% of the population belongs to the Hmong ethnic minority. Hunger, poverty, hardship, and scarcity are omnipresent, which is why the dream of going to school remains a distant dream for children in this region.

The path leading to the school is steep, muddy, and slippery. It is very difficult for children to get to school. When we arrived at Hoa Mi School, we brought numerous gifts, including candies, drawings, school supplies, shoes, clothes, toys, and more. The joyful faces and innocent smiles of mountain children receiving these gifts touched us deeply.

Hoa Mi kindergarten is built with: 2 classrooms meeting standards for kindergarten students, 1 community room, 1 sanitation area, a play area, and other facilities (ceiling fans, beds for students, wash basins, etc.).

All children deserve the opportunity to play and learn without limits. Through this humanitarian project, we wish to share our efforts with the community to improve society, as well as realize the dreams of children in Vietnam’s mountain regions. Starting with projects aimed at helping those in need, we will continue to expand other actions to have a lasting impact on the community and cultivate valuable long-term relationships.
