Supporting People Affected by Floods in Nghe An

On October 22, 2022, we traveled over 1,600 km and brought more than 200 gifts totaling over 100 million VND (more than 4,000 euros) to the flood victims in Ky Son district, Nghe An province.

Our team includes:

• Central Association of Vietnamese Community Healthcare in Ho Chi Minh City
• UNESCO Center for Culture, Information, and Communication
• Dragon Fruit Association, Binh Thuan Province
• Women’s Union of Quynh Chau Commune, Quynh Luu District, Nghe An Province
• Other humanitarian associations: Hoa Sen (Lotus), Horizon Vietnam Travel Fund…

Ky Son is one of the poorest districts in Nghe An province in central Vietnam. Floods make life for the poor even more difficult. Ethnic minorities travel over 14 km to receive our charitable gifts.
We went to Nam Can village to offer the population gifts:

• Shoes
• Rice
• Instant noodles
• Clothing
• Money

During the gift-giving ceremony, Ms. Ta Song Huong (president of the Women’s Union of Quynh Chau Commune) shared: “The sponsors traveled thousands of kilometers from the south to Nghe An province, to the remote area of Ky Son district to offer meaningful gifts, adding motivation to those in need.”

Furthermore, on October 23, we traveled to Muong Xen Commune, Ky Son District, Nghe An Province to bring necessary products to residents such as:

• Rice
• Instant noodles
• Medicine
• Blankets
• Essential goods
• Cash (over 200 million VND ~ 8,400 euros)

Additionally, we also conducted medical visits and distributed free medicines to help the most disadvantaged overcome physical and mental health issues caused by the floods.
