Year-End Humanitarian Trip to Vi Xuyen District, Ha Giang Province

On January 8, 2023, humanitarian groups such as Hoa Sen (Lotus) Volunteer Group, Tu Tam (From the Heart), Horizon Vietnam Travel agency, … came to Ha Giang province for the organization of a ceremony of offering incense at the Heroes’ Cemetery of Vi Xuyen district, at the temple of President Ho Chi Minh, the ribbon cutting to inaugurate the Na Tinh bridge – one of 3 bridges that charitable groups built in 2022 – and the offering of New Year gifts to poor people.

The charitable groups offered incense to the heroic martyrs at Vi Xuyen cemetery and paid tribute to martyrs from all over the country, from the Mong Cai border gate to Con Dao island, Phu Quoc. The offerings consisted of military clothing still scented with new fabric, hats, towels, slippers, rations, candy, cigarettes, books, pens, and many other items to honor the merits of martyrs who fought for the country’s peace.

Many villages in Vi Xuyen district do not have bridges. When flood waters flow, residents there are isolated during the rainy season. It is difficult and dangerous to move around. Some people even cross the stream and are swept away by the rushing water. We decided to build three bridges in this district and to participate in the inauguration of the Na Tinh bridge, where the Na Tinh stream flows. The Na Tinh bridge is built of cement with a capacity of up to 10 tons. Thanks to the bridge, economic activities and children’s schooling will be much easier.

Beyond the gift of the bridge, families in difficult situations also received Tet gifts including warm blankets, sweaters, rice, candy, shoes, … and a sum of money for a warm winter. We are truly moved and happy to see the eyes of people filled with joy when they receive our gifts.

Through this year-end trip of 2022, our humanitarian group wishes to convey to disadvantaged people the love of the entire nation for fellow citizens. In the hope that many people will unite with the Party and State, quickly build other bridges of mutual affection so that mountain dwellers soon follow the development of lowland residents.
