Conversation by Ta Duy Bau, Director of Horizon Vietnam Travel, with the francophone travel club La Route des Découvertes (ULIS – VNU Hanoi)

After the first two Petit Tours of the “La Route des Découvertes” club, Mr. Ta Duy Bau, Director of Horizon Vietnam Travel, met with the members on December 16, 2019 to share his experiences about learning, the profession of a tour guide and the good organization of a club.

During the conversation, Mr. Bau got to know the club members and asked each one why they chose French and what difficulties they encountered while learning. Most people were enthusiastic because French is very romantic and the French are friendly and warm. Mr. Bau added that frequent contact with French improves one’s appearance. He reminded everyone that any language can be learned as long as you practice hard and practice a lot. He also said that during his studies, thanks to his drive and courage, he led tours from the second and third year of his studies and volunteered at the Museum of Ethnology in his first year. A foreign language depends on practice – you have to learn from reality in order to speak better and more quickly.

Mr. Bau introduces the Vietnamese tourism industry

Mr. Bau then gave an overview of Vietnam’s tourism industry. Tourism is a key economic sector and a bridge between Vietnam and the world. Studying tourism makes it possible to convey the image of a Vietnam with a rich history and magnificent nature and at the same time expand one’s own knowledge. “Traveling educates” – after every trip, what you have learned becomes a valuable companion in life. The students also worked with people from abroad and learned a lot from their stories and way of life.

Afterwards, Mr. Bau gave tips on how to organize the club so that every department works with commitment and the club can grow and attract more students. At the end, the members thanked Mr. Bau for his valuable experiences and the company Horizon Vietnam Travel for their regular support of the club activities. Mr. Bau took a photo with the members and wished them much success in achieving their goals.
