The second “Petit Tour” of the La Route des Découvertes club with Horizon Vietnam Travel

After the first tour to the mausoleum and the Temple of Literature, the Francophone travel club La Route des Découvertes (University of Foreign Languages ​​- VNU Hanoi) visited other destinations on November 24th, 2019: the Tran Quoc Pagoda and the Vietnamese Women’s Museum, two places in Hanoi that are very popular with travelers. The tour was accompanied by lecturer Nguyen Thu Ha and three charming French “guests” – Tea, Katherine and Marie – and of course with the support of Horizon Vietnam Travel. The members were happy to experience another day as tour guides.

The group met at 8 a.m. and club president Le Duc Trung introduced the guests and the program. On the drive to Tran Quoc Pagoda, he played a game with the members in which they repeated the locations and impressions of the first tour – each row of seats a team; In the end there was a draw and small prizes.

At 8:45 a.m. the club reached the Tran Quoc Pagoda. Lan Phuong gave an overview of the location, history, culture and architecture; What is remarkable is that the pagoda is considered one of the most beautiful in the world. Giang presented the special architecture with the numerous towers, especially the “Lotus Tower of the Six Virtues”. Thu and Hien spoke about the story, who also spoke about the law of cause and effect. Afterwards there were 15 minutes to explore and take photos.

The second destination was the Vietnamese Women’s Museum. Dao Tuan gave an overview: The second floor is about women in family and history, the third is about historical events and contemporary life – such as war memories of Vietnamese women – and the fourth is about women’s fashion and the cultural diversity of ethnic groups. Thuong, Trung, My and Phuong presented at the respective stations.

The members and the French guests listened attentively and asked many questions about the Vietnamese woman. Lecturer Nguyen Thu Ha accompanied each lecture, helped with translations from Vietnamese into French and vice versa and showed how to convey information as simply and understandably as possible.

At the end there was lunch in the pedestrian zone with numerous Hanoi specialties: bun cha, bun ngan, bun tron, pho ga, pho bo… Le Duc Trung thanked lecturer Nguyen Thu Ha, the three French guests and Horizon Vietnam Travel for their support. This day was also a valuable opportunity for the members to learn more about the profession of tour guide.
