Why the name “Whale Island”?

In Vietnamese, the whale is also known as “Cá Ông” (meaning a “Lord” fish). It is considered the genius of the sea in the coastal regions of central Vietnam. According to several anecdotes of the locals, the whales came to the rescue of the fishermen when their boats sank into the sea. Since then, the villagers worship this animal and this island is called the island of the whale.

How to get to Whale island?
