Kon Tum province
Explore Kon Tum Province
If you want to explore one of the mountainous regions of Vietnam, names like Sapa – the roof of Indochina, Ha Giang and the stone plateaus at the northern end, or Mai Chau – the valley inhabited by Thai people – are immediately suggested. But there is only one name that would escape the attention of most tourists: Kon Tum.
The landscapes of the highlands of central Vietnam, essentially formed by the Truong Son mountain range and along the border with Laos, present strong contrasts with the north of the country. If the reliefs of the North are very intersected, very uneven, those of the central highlands are distinguished by their vast space. This could be the reason why everything seems bigger on this land: common monuments, habitats… It will be up to you to see!
Kontum, the capital city of a province known as the crossroads of the former French Indochina, is populated by a mosaic of ethnic groups with still very ancestral ways of life and forms of social organization-be they Bahnars, Gia Rai, Sedangs, or Braus. It is, therefore, worth a discovery by all true travelers-those who have a sense of adventure and who are not satisfied with seeing the usual things.
