Why go to Tay Ninh?
About 2.5 hours northwest of Ho Chi Minh City and located halfway with the southern central highlands, Tay Ninh is a land on which history has left some memorable works. First of all, it is the Holy See of Caodaism – an original religious creation of the 20th century – the combination of certain features of the most widespread religions in the world. The main building built in 1933 also reflects all the mixed and universal vocations of this religious doctrine: diversity of styles, both European and Oriental, with very specific symbols, sometimes mysterious, representative of this religion. If you come here, don’t miss the multi-colored religious destination.
Then, Tay Ninh testifies to a work of defense of the Vietnamese of the South: the tunnels of Cu Chi – a true underground city have contributed to the victory of the Vietnamese guerrillas during the American war. It is proof of the ingenuity of the Vietnamese and a method of warfare that constantly amazes Western visitors when they enter the narrow floors and winding basements, in almost total darkness.
These two monuments are already enough to make Tay Ninh a beautiful place for excursions from Saigon. However, if you hang out in Tay Ninh, also enjoy the beautiful landscapes of this province.
