Hello Mrs Thom,
It’s been almost 3 days since we returned home, and we’re having a bit of a hard time getting back to the reality of our daily lives after the 4 wonderful weeks we spent in Vietnam.
Here is a summary of our stay:
– Saigon and the Mekong Delta with “Marguerite”. She knew from the start how to immerse us in the life of the Vietnamese and as you were in the preparations of the Tet festival, the change of scenery was even greater for us. One small regret: 1 more day in the Delta and a little more time in Saigon would not have been superfluous.
– Our free day in Dallat allowed us to discover and visit a very beautiful pagoda (near the cable car) and to participate in the cult of the ancestors, to discover the station.
– Nha Trang: our least good memory. The guide spoke French badly, the hotel was average and located in a district invaded by the Russians. The cruise to discover the islands was reduced to a quick transfer to the aquarium, then to the island where we, fortunately, could swim. The meal was taken under a straw hut, “Club Med” style and was not typical and the visit to the fishermen’s villages was very limited. As for the transfer in the bamboo net, it did not take place and we had to pay to use a net (for the folkloric side).
– Hoi An, My Son, Hue via the Cloud Pass with our guide Van. It was really good: Van speaks very good French. He knew how to fascinate us and as we had free time, we could rediscover by ourselves the wonderful city of Hoi An and stroll along the Perfume River in Hué.
– Hanoi and the north with Joseph and our charming driver “Ami”. Joseph speaks French well and was able to adapt well to our group. He always answered the many questions we asked him about life and culture in Vietnam. “Ami” is very nice, he drives very well and is very helpful.
Some remarks:
– one more day in Hanoi to discover the old Hanoi would have been interesting.
– In the north, the accommodation with the first inhabitant was basic, but the welcome was extremely warm and we have excellent memories of it. Nothing to say about the accommodation with the 2nd. For the third, the accommodation was comfortable and very well located and it allowed us to walk in the rice fields around. The walk on the Ba Be lake was great.
– We had the chance on the way to Cao Bang to participate in a local festival and it was exciting.
– Very nice day at the Ban Gioc waterfall with a visit to the Nguom Ngao cave.
– 2 beautiful days in the 2 bays of Ha Long in spite of the fog and the rain
In summary, we are delighted with our stay and we will not hesitate to recommend your agency.
Finally, we would like to sincerely thank you for having found us a flight at the last moment which fortunately allowed us not to miss our connection in Saigon. Viet jet air is really not trustworthy. Thanks again to you and to our driver “Friend” who did not abandon us!
On this subject, we understood that for a possible refund of our tickets at Vietjet air we had to contact the agency OPODO which had provided them to us.
We contacted this agency OPODO which claims that it is Vietjet which must reimburse us !!! This is a good thing!
However, OPODO would finally agree to reimburse us on the condition that we provide them with a document from Vietjet air confirming that our flight was indeed delayed. The document that Vietjet air provided us with at the airport is illegible and we are not sure that it contains the information that OPODO wants.
Please allow us to make a final request: Can you provide us with a certificate from Vietjet air stating that flight VJ 165 was delayed from 12.40 pm to 4.10 pm on 11 March? In case this is not possible from Vietjet air, could you please send us a certificate from your hand notifying the postponement and the flight that you kindly obtained for us from Jetstar (flight BL 791….)?
